Children & Youth

Children’s Ministry

We encourage active participation by our children in all aspects of the church’s life. Thus, we have worship opportunities, educational programs, service and fellowship opportunities to benefit the children, their families and their larger church family. Our children help lead in worship by serving as acolytes and singing with our Children’s Chorus.

Children’s Sunday School

We meet weekly from 10:00 A.M. – 10:45 A.M. in Mrs. Terry Melancon’s Sunday School Class (Room 202) before worship at 11:00 A.M.  All students from First through the Sixth Grade are welcome!

They learn about our Lord in Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible School, and special programs. Throughout the year, the children are part of reaching beyond our church walls through mission projects in their Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School, helping with ministries like Family Promise and the Angel tree, and participating in Mission Camp during the summer.

Youth Ministry

Youth Fellowship is currently under construction! Please stay in touch for information about new things happening with the youth at FUMC!

Our youth also participate in special activities scheduled throughout the year, including a summer mission trip.

Our youth joined 2500 other youth from 44 out of 50 states and several countries for a week at Youth 2023 conference.

A new Sunday School class for youth will start on September 7th at 10am.  Jana Poole & Johni John will be leading the class for kids in 7th-12th grades. Join us as we revisit the beatitudes in a fun new way with games, snacks and coffee.
